Ministry of Agriculture (MoA)
Established in 1907, the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) has been shaping the institutional agricultural landscape in Ethiopia for over 100 years. The MOA works to increase agricultural production, productivity, and economic performance, as well as to serve in a leadership role for developing and implementing national agricultural policy in the country. The Government of Ethiopia has demonstrated a strong commitment to agriculture and the rural development through allocation of more than 10 per cent of the county's total budget to these sectors.
The Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA)
The Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA) is part of the Government of Ethiopia and reports to an Agricultural Transformation Council chaired by the Prime Minister. The ATA is tasked with supporting all key stakeholders to transform the country’s agriculture sector so that Ethiopia achieves its national target: reaching middle-income status by 2025.
Agribusiness and Market Development (AGP-AMDe)
The Agricultural Growth Program – Agribusiness and Market Development (AGP-AMDe) is a flagship project under USAID’s Feed the Future (FTF) strategy for Ethiopia and is USAID’s largest contribution to the government of Ethiopia’s (GoE) Agricultural Growth Program (AGP). In line with the overall objectives of AGP, AGP-AMDe works to sustainably reduce poverty and hunger by improving the productivity and competitiveness of value chains that offer jobs and income opportunities for rural households.
CASCAPE
The Capacity building for scaling up of evidence-based practices in agricultural production in Ethiopia (CASCAPE) aims to identify drivers for uptake of innovations, test and disseminate these innovations, and evaluate their short and long-term effects to enable the scale up of best practices in the agricultural sector in Ethiopia.
Livestock Market Development (AGP-LMD)
USAID-Ethiopia’s Agricultural Growth Program (AGP)-Livestock Market Development (LMD) project is a five-year project implemented as part of the U.S. Government’s Feed the Future (FTF) Initiative. The Project aims to foster growth and reduce poverty through improving the productivity and competitiveness of selected livestock value chains: meat/live animals, hides/skins/leather, and dairy.
